Carilion Rehabilitation Services are available at both the Roanoke and Botetourt Carilion Wellness locations. Carilion Clinic's physical therapy and physical rehabilitation therapists treat patients recovering from all types of injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and more.

Our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation maintenance program can help you gain strength and endurance through exercise and wellness conditioning. And, to maximize recovery, we can also educate you and your family about how to live a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Carilion Wellness Exercise Physiologists are available at our Roanoke and Botetourt locations during the following times:

Mon/Wed/Fri: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Botetourt

Mon/Wed/Fri 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.

The maintenance program is appropriate after completion of Cardiac Rehab or Pulmonary Rehab. A physician referral is needed before patients start this program.

Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. It is thought to help the body's stress response by lowering levels of hormones such as cortisol and can help enhance immune function.

Carilion Wellness offers massage through an independent* company, Head to Toe Massage, LLC, at our Botetourt location.

• Full access to both Carilion Wellness locations
• 2 fitness consultations and InBody assessments
• 4 one-on-one training sessions with a certified personal trainer

Recovery Rx focuses on functional training for clinical issues, such as diabetes and heart disease. This program includes:.

• 60-day membership
• Full access to both Carilion Wellness locations
• 3 fitness consultations (pre-, mid-, and post-program) and InBody assessments
• An individualized fitness plan to follow
• 6 one-on-one training sessions with an exercise physiologist

Take Control Rx is designed for those in cardiac rehabilitation or have cancer, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or bariatric needs. This program includes:

The Take Control Rx program includes:

• 12-week introductory program
• Full access to both Carilion Wellness locations
• 2 functional tests (pre- and post-program)
• An individualized exercise plan, facilitated in a group environment
• 2 group exercise classes per week

Specifically for people with cardiovascular disease risk factors (such as high cholesterol, obesity, smoke exposure, high blood pressure, and diabetes), stable cardiovascular disease, or stable pulmonary disease. This program includes:

• 8-week program with exercise and education
• 2 functional tests (pre and post program)
• 2 group exercise classes per week with education
• Access to Carilion Wellness Roanoke and Botetourt

(Program classes exclusively held at Carilion Wellness Roanoke)

Nursery and youth center services are included at no additional charge for parents on an Individual or Household membership at our Roanoke and Botetourt locations. We realize when you work out you want the kids to be safe and comfortable. That’s why we have a variety of childcare options for ages 8 weeks to 14 years. Children are eligible to participate in these areas up to two hours every day.

Rocky Steady Boxing provides a uniquely effective form of physical exercise for people who are living with Parkinson’s disease. It is a non-contact, boxing-inspired fitness routine that dramatically improves the ability of people with Parkinson’s to live independent lives.

• Participants must be diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
• Requires a Carilion Wellness membership (not included with basic membership level)
• One-hour classes are offered twice a week
